In "I Want To Stay Here", as in all the paintings of Blend Cycle, the artist's experience is marked by symbols and places that belong to his memory and most likely to collective memory. It is certainly the perspective of a visionary artist in which he tries to give order and contemporaneity to his memories.
Over Angelo's lifetime, he traveled and experienced incredible destinations, this setting is nowhere in particular but just a collective memory of some of the islands he visited. The dreams of Homer are a reflection of his passion for creating images for paintings. In this instance, he brings modern humor to that creative process by depicting Homer Simpson. The Ostriches are a political reference to us all burying our heads in the sand. The painting within the painting is " Portrait of a young man with a red hat" By Sandro Botticelli. The hoover is Angelo's sense of playfulness as we would never find such a product useful on a desert Island. Arnold again is used as a reference to Angelo's enjoyment of Hollywood films. All in all, he has created this wonderful blend of modern surrealism.
